Introduction
This August we enjoyed a regenerative weekend full of learning, connection with nature, and community living. Between the vineyard, the river, and nights under the stars, we shared moments of mindful work, rest, and joy that left us with a deep sense of harmony.
A warm welcome by the river
On Friday evening, we opened the gathering with a dinner by the river in Caseres. It was the perfect moment to relax, share, and ease into the special atmosphere of the weekend ahead.
Sunrise in the vineyard: working in harmony with nature
Saturday started early, with tea and breakfast at Boodaville Finca, followed by a walk down to the vineyard. There we worked to create space for the harvest, always with care not to disturb the ecosystem: moving slowly so as not to trouble the wasps and respecting the insects living among the plants.
The day was also a reflection on how to manage ground cover without heavy machinery. In the end, we discovered that with boots, gloves, and many hands, collective work can be both efficient and respectful. By walking together we opened pathways and kept the vineyard alive.
The river: a place for rest and play
After working in the vineyard, nothing felt better than diving into the river. Between climbing rocks, swimming, and plenty of laughter, we enjoyed the more playful side of the weekend!
A shared culinary experience
We enjoyed lovingly prepared meals: Frittata, courgette soup, local cheeses, pasta with roasted vegetables from the garden, and many more delights. Angela, together with the kitchen team, did an exceptional job, turning every meal into a moment of celebration.
A night under the stars
On Saturday evening we returned to Boodaville Finca, had a short tour, and shared dinner under the stars. Although shooting stars were rare this time, the night sky always offers moments of wonder and awe.
Sunday of exploration and observation
Sunday brought a change of scene: we explored the Vall Rovira to observe existing trees and think ahead to the seeds we will plant in October. We found apricot trees, fig trees, and pear trees full of fruit, which gave us new ideas for the edible margin we plan to create.
The day was also full of stories, such as Robin’s determination to reach for a pear that was still unripe, which had everyone laughing.
Closing: more than a weekend, a regenerative experience
The weekend came to a close with a final meal, another refreshing dip in the river, and the journey back home. Regeneration is also about community and personal connection: a chance to reconnect with the land, with ourselves, and with one another.
It was a truly memorable experience – and, above all, an invitation to keep in touch and continue our steps towards healthy ecological living together.
