Excellent welcome from Anna, she invested time and energy to make us feel at ease and to let us know the surroundings, taking me and the other volunteer Olivia to know nearby villages and all the places we could need, e.g. supermarkets, pharmacies, etc… We visited Boodaville and Anna told us about her project.
The first impact with “Mas la llum” was exciting, I went from watching numerous videos on YouTube regarding alternative and sustainable lifestyles, based on green building, permaculture in general and SELF-SUFFICIENCY to finding myself immersed in an existing/living reality designed and built following these principles.
The first month was very immersive, full of fascinating and revolutionary information that Xavi and Marta transmitted to us with passion. We visited “Mas la llum” and they explained to us how it works (the systems for heating the house, for supplying the house with water, for electricity and much more). We designed, prepared and sowed a raised garden in the area adjacent to the house, taking into account the information that they previously transmitted to us (e.g. positive associations between vegetables, distances to be respected, etc …) and we prepared the other garden with the biointensive method.
The “Espiral” project allowed us to be in contact with children and to get to know an alternative form of education and school, in my opinion much more beneficial and healthy for children than traditional methods. Roser welcomed us warmly, dedicating himself to getting to know us and carrying out some “introspective” activities together.
