I do what I can.
That is my mantra and my survival strategy as I navigate the complexity and busy – ness of my life. The trick is to never try and do what you can’t. (I learnt that lesson the hard way in 2023 when I tried to organise a BiorNE conference with a team that wasn’t flowing and at the same time be giving a Donut Economics workshop 250km away. Destroyed is the word)
So finally after a break from writing on Friday’s I can dedicate twenty minutes to this!
Since I don’t know where to start maybe I’ll just finish and leave you a recent photo from Spring in the vineyard.
And take some time and gratitude for all the amazing people supporting different projects at Boodaville – from volunteering, to solidarity projects, to some inspired activism (sending an objection to a huge nature damaging infrastrucuture plan), to wonderful people supporting us in Matarranya, my two incredible children (who are the best at doing shows on a yoga mat with a torch as a microphone miming Kae Tempest, Standing the Square), the Rovira team who are absolutely getting themselves together and stepping up to make the crowdfunding a reality, and lastly to the youth exchange permies that I will be spending this weekend with.
I will rest now, to give myself the energy needed to thrive at this weekend in Sanilles. The purpose of the weekend is to create a database of permaculture Erasmus projects across Europe to spark future collaborations, to design a real, long-term, ecological installation that we can implement with the 40 young people who come in July (a new food production zone, a water recycling system… we’ll let you know!), and to connect, enjoy and play.
Maybe next week there’ll be more, maybe!
